studying~
Both today and yesterday, I studied quite a bit. My midterms start on tuesday, so I still have some time, but it’s better to study gradually instead of cramming the day before haha. Midterms consists of five different tests; talking, listening, writing, reading, and pronunciation test. Out of those, It’s probably just the talking test that I’m a bit worried about, cause I get...

Tuesday was the most boring day so far, ever since I started school. I didn’t fall asleep until after 2am, and then woke up around 5am feeling like crap, so I didn’t go to class. My cold had definitely gotten much worse overnight! The combination of bad headache, VERY stuffy nose (that I couldn’t even breathe through), having to sneeze every 10 seconds, and only 3 hours of sleep...

so it’s official - I’ve got a cold. I saw it coming though, cause I’ve been feeling it more and more since a few days ago, and over the night it really kicked in. I woke up with the stuffiest nose, my throat hurts, and I have a bad headache.. I felt a tiny bit better throughout the day, but my cold is actually getting worse now. great. Lately, the weather has been quite nice,...

art museum and 63 building
the past few days, I’ve basically just been studying and hanging out with my friends. Actually I’m usually only in my room at night, cause I’m always out somewhere doing something - studying/doing homework with my friends, eating out in Sinchon, or just going to new places and exploring Seoul. I love taking naps though, so I’m in my room pretty much only when I sleep! I...

update.
Lately I’ve been quite busy. I’m meeting my friends, doing my homework, eating out, doing more homework, studying for my vocabulary tests, meeting more friends, and walking. yeah, I do a lot of walking here in Korea. Anyways, here’s a picture update of my recent days: I bought some really nice CD’s! one CD in Korea usually costs from 8-15,000won, which is quite cheap...

Coex Aquarium
Last weekend on Saturday, Lene and I went to Coex (which is a huge department store, and has both a movie theater and an aquarium), as if all the walking from Friday wasn’t enough.. What can I say? I love walking (well actually I have a love-hate relationship with walking, it’s not fun when my feet hurts like crap [which they did on Saturday]). First we ate a burger for breakfast,...

Gyeongbok Palace
On friday, my friends and I went to Gyeongbok Palace in Jongno. It was my first time seeing a korean palace, and it was really nice! This palace was the first palace cpompound to be built by the Joseon founder, so it’s the main palace, and therefore the largest of all the Joseon palaces. It was used both as a residence for the king and his closest family members, as well as a place where...

After being in Korea for one and a half month, I’ve become quite used to everything here. Korea is very different from my country though, I’ve written down the most noticeable differences. This is in contrast to Norway, and based on my experiences and what I’ve seen. When in Korea…. - You will notice at least four coffee shops of some sort in every street. - You’ll see guy...

I’m quite busy these days with all kinds of things. It’s strange, cause I never have time to be bored anymore. There’s always somewhere I’m going, someone I’m meeting, something I have to study, places to eat at with my friends etc. I have honestly never been this busy before haha. My day usually looks something like this; wake up 8am, class starts 9am. Class till...

update ~
it’s been almost a week since school started, and I can honestly say that I’ve learned a lot since then! I was taught German in school for 5 years, and I can’t remember much of it at all.. I’m actually better at talking korean than german.. And korean class is so fun, I’m actually looking forwards to it every morning! The class is going quite fast compared to what...

interesting weekend
My weekend was quite good. On friday a bit after classes, 7 of us (5 from my class, Lene and I), went to eat some lunch at Café Kkini, after a long mission of locating where the guys’ rooms were so that we could have them join us. The original plan was to cook something together in the shared kitchen, but we figured it was much easier to just eat out lol. Café Kkini is a café/cafeteria (?)...

So today was the first day of classes! My classes are from 9am to 1pm, in the building right next to where I’m staying. In my class there are 13 students I think, the ones I know are from China, Taiwan, Philippines, and the US. We have two teachers, of whom both seem really nice and friendly (as in, they joke around and make learning korean fun, they’re not like dead serious and whatnot). My...
