I’ve always found such joy in sending letters written by hand, and I’m always so excited upon receiving a letter in return. I remember I had a penpal in Korea about 5 years ago, and we’d send eachother handwritten letters and some small gifts every now and then. As time went by I didn’t hear from her as much as I used to, I guess because she started high school in Korea and probably got really busy studying (high school in Korea is basically studying 24/7). It’s such a shame that we got out of touch though, cause I’m sure we would’ve been great friends if we ever met in real life. She doesn’t know I went to Korea, and I don’t know her contact info except her address (maybe she’s moved by now?). I might be able to find her email address if I search for it really well.. how interesting it would be if I actually got in touch with her again!
Anyways, last week I received a package in the mail - it was from one of my closes friends in Korea; Yijing. I’m sure I’ve written this before, but she’s really the sweetest. In prior to this, I had asked her to buy a pack of makeup-remover that I really like and some korean instant coffee, and then mail it to me (and of course I told her I’d pay for it when I get back).. She sent me the makeup-remover, so much instant coffee, plus a lot of chocolate (oh she knows me too well haha). I was smiling pretty much the whole day.
During the time I’ve been back in Norway, I already sent letters and small gifts for all of my closest friends back in Korea. I really hope they felt the same kind of joy upon receiving a letter from me, as I do every time I receive a letter!
