Life of Mari

I'm Marianne; 21 years old, married and expecting a baby this summer! I lived in Korea for a few years to study korean, and that's where I met my husband. I've written a lot about my life living in Korea, but now that I'm back in Norway my blog will mostly be about this new chapter in my life!

sick~

I realized it’s been a while since my last post. Lately I’ve not only been busy studying for final exams, but I’ve also been sick.. not a good combination, as I’d rather relax and do nothing when I’m sick, but because of the exams I still studied hard and went to school on days I really didn’t feel good at all. The exams went quite well though. Thursday is the last day of school this semester, and then I’ll have a one month long vacation..! I didn’t really plan a lot for the vacation yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure out how to make time pass by somehow. Maybe I’ll sign up for a yoga class or something~

“when I walk on the street with my coffee, I smile. I feel so good and happy. magical thing! it’s a cup of coffee.” written on the mocha coffee Yijing bought me the other day, I thought it was quite funny ^^

I’ve been sowing a lot by hand lately since I don’t have a sowing machine here in Korea. These two bears I made recently for Baiwei and Yijing’s birthdays~ the light bear is made by crocheting.

Anyways, tomorrow is my 20th birthday! I’ll celebrate with my closest friends after school, I’m really looking forwards to it. Two Fridays in a row there has been a singing contest for the foreign students, and I went both times to cheer on Baiwei - he did really well! Other than that, nothing interesting is happening, at least not this weekend. Except from two short trips to the market, I’ve been inside all of Saturday and today watching interesting tv-shows and reading my new Haruki Murakami book (1Q84). I guess it isn’t the best idea to go outside much when my cold is this bad. I hope the cold medicine I’m taking kicks in soon haha.

Pretty Yijing in the taxi the other day when I helped her and her boyfriend getting some heavy boxes to the post office to send back to her hometown. I still cant believe she’s leaving in just a bit over a week from now - what am I supposed to do without her?? She might come back to Korea in January for another semester, but most likely not.. Either way I will visit her in China after level 5 in the end of March, I’m really excited about that.

Afterwards I’m gonna go get takeout milk tea from the cozy coffeeshop down the street, and then I’ll continue reading my new Murakami book. Later I’m cooking dinner with Erica~
